Research the criminal case, where Casey Anthony was accused of killing her daughter Caylee, 2, in 2008. Since the case had drawn national attention, there were concerns that Casey Anthony may not be able to receive a fair trial. - Despite your personal feelings regarding the verdict, did Casey Anthony receive a fair trial due to the importing of jurors from 100 miles away in Clearwater, Florida to Orlando, Florida? Please be sure to support your position with credible research.
- Do you see this as an innovative approach to “venue” issues, which is fair and just, or should the entire proceeding have been moved from the Orlando area? Here, you may provide “opinion” only, but it must be substantive.
- Do you feel that there is a conflict between the 1st Amendment and the 6th Amendment of the US Constitution, where venue issues can become more common due to Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Speech, etc.?
