- Observe a special education teacher implementing a lesson in a special education environment to an individual student diagnosed with ASD or to a small group of students that includes a student diagnosed with ASD.
Note the following in your observation:
- Physical environment
- Interventions used
- Instructional strategies
- Accommodations or modifications used (including behavioral, if applicable)
- Specialized resources
- Integration of technology
- Paraprofessional role if present
- Interview the teacher observed to find out the teacher’s rationale for classroom environment preparation, adaptive instruction, and specialized resources they may use.

Write a 525- to 700-word paper on the interview and observation. Include descriptions of the following:
- Physical environment (such as bulletin boards, seating arrangements, displays for instruction, and any physical accommodations)
- Interventions used with ASD student
- Instructional strategies used
- Accommodations or modifications used (including behavioral, if applicable)
- Specialized resources used
- Integration of technology
- Paraprofessional role, if present
