A juvenile detention center is somewhat like a prison. They have locked doors, roommates, they might have uniform requirements that look similar to adult prisons. This type of environment I believe does not help juveniles. If you are in this type of environment many will behave as such, behaving like you are a prisoner and act like a “bad” boy or “bad” girl.

There should be in programs or centers that are a bit more lenient due to the fact that children are still growing and still learning. Programs in which kids are not locked in and wearing uniforms as if they’re in adult prison. I do believe hostile children with more serious offenses should be observed and looked at closely before allowing them into such programs for their safety and the safety of others. Programs such as treatment centers, boot camps, wildlife camps, and group homes could be a better way to avoid recidivism and they can receive the rehabilitation needed.
